We have lived near this restaurant for almost 14 years and had never been there before. After reading several reviews online, we decided it was time to check it out. When we arrived, on a Saturday evening at 6:45PM, there was no one to greet us at the hostess stand. Not a good sign. Eventually we were seated. The wine list is quite unimpressive, but the menu is interesting enough. Our server was pleasant, and efficient, perhaps overly so. And she seemed to take care of different tables in different manners. All in all, it became quite clear that Luiginos caters to it's regulars, and perhaps feels that they provide sufficient business and that making a favorable impression on new patrons is unimportant, regardless of what is stated on their website. I must say also that this was a date night for my husband and I, and we were appropriately dressed for a nice dinner out. There were other people dining there that night in blue jeans, getting better service than we were. I wish that I was a newspaper food critic. Who would have ever known?
