Johnny's Italian Steakhouse is reminiscent of the traditional 40's style supper clubs where everybody went for a good time and great food. The vintage prints on the walls, the exhibition kitchen, floor to ceiling windows overlooking the riverfront view, waiters in black pants and white shirts, large upholstered wooden booths, and private seating all will invoke feelings of the past. The downtown location is ideal for both residents and visitors. They will be greeted with great service and an enticing menu filled with your favorite Italian specialties, irresistible desserts, and an extensive wine selection.

We reserved a date for our dad's 80th birthday party on February 17, 2008. The Quad-City area was expecting a snow storm that evening -- not much going on in your restaurant. The "host" that greeted us was surprised "that anyone would come out after Valentine's Day." (Seemed dissappointed that he had to do anything that evening.) I asked if we could get some hors d'ouvres and we would both like drinks before our guests of 30 arrived (now down to 22-something). His reply was that our waiter would be there in half an hour. I asked for a house wine, white. Is your house wine really $10 a glass? We had one person waiting on our entire party. How does that ever work? There was no bread until I said something. My food was cold, as I'm sure most were, but didn't tell us until after the party. The guest of honor was still waiting for a drink for our toast, said his steak was "terrible" and I've never known my father-in-law to be very critical. People were waiting for drinks. I was so dissappointed with your staff and the way our very important event was handled. I went into the bar to get drinks for our guests and that wonderful "host" was standing and talking with someone with his hands in his pockets, again, and I ordered drinks and brought them to my guests myself. WOW! On that snowy Sunday night, where there wasn't much going on in your restaurant, (busy might have been part of an excuse for horrible service) your staff couldn't get it together enough to make our party special. THANKS!! We will never be back and I will be sure to tell our friends about the event. I guess parties are just not your strong suit. Regrettably, (that we chose your establishment) Patty Papenhausen
P.S. Your sound system was broken, apparently, for the first few hours. Lovely.

A little overpriced for pasta with a fancy name. Atmosphere and service was good. Next time I will try a steak!

They have excellent food, but not a lot of things for smaller children to eat.
