Jackson’s Sports Bar & Grill, Worth the Wait? You Decide On October 4th, 2009, I revisited a well known sports bar in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Remembering previous dining experiences at Jackson’s were positive ones, there was no other choice that appealed to me. Unfortunately, previous experiences proved to be a little more pleasant than this one, and service was more efficient as well. The first impression this time around emanated how busy this place was as well as exciting. Understandable since the Dallas Cowboys were playing against the Denver Bronco’s on this particular day. There was no sign of a hostess, which caused customers to wait for long periods of time just to be placed on the waiting list. When she finally arrived, she was clearly disgruntled and left an impression that Jackson’s was understaffed and unprepared for a major event. There were a couple of customers ready to walk out, however patience is a virtue and on a special day, at any busy restaurant, patience should be displayed. I really do like the place, and enjoyed the various qualities that Jackson’s does offer. One of them happens to be the ambience. Jackson’s had a brightness that sets this sports bar apart from the typical ambience of the others in Cheyenne. The windows allowed the daylight to not only brighten the place up, but you are able to enjoy the outdoor view without actually having to go outdoors. This is a great asset during Wyoming’s winter season. The people were thoroughly enjoying not only the game, but each others company as well. Jackson’s has quite a few television screens and the only downside I noticed on this is that they played the same games on most of them. Jackson’s should utilize the quantity of these screens, by showing different games on them to increase a more varied fan based group of people, and to meet most fans’ visual needs. Finally, all the Buffalo wings served here vary in the level of hotness, and the Honey Habanero ranks second to the top in hot. The wings came with a choice of dressing and either a la carte, or as a dinner. They were cooked to perfection, plump and juicy, and when dipped in ranch dressing, they burst with a unique flavor mixed between sweet and creamy. Truly a mouth watering delight to anyone who loves spicy with a touch of sweetness. Over all, Jackson’s has excellent food prepared to perfection, and a welcoming ambience full of excitement and a desire to have fun with sports fans. All they need in order to keep this pleasantness is to work on initial service to customers.
