I have been dining at Formosa since I was a kid, my mother went there when she was pregnant with me even. Formosa used to have a small quaint place in the Five Points which they closed and moved to Hoover. The new location is nice and clean, the decoration is wonderful and the food is hands down the absolute best Chinese dining ever. I recently moved away from Alabama, and I can tell you that I have yet to find another restaurant that could match both Quality of Food or Service. Formosa has it all :)

The food was good. The service from the servers was good. The owner, who sat us and checked us out, was extremely rude. If you want to eat there, you will see just why I say that.

Chef's Specialty "Cocoanut Butter Shrimp" is outstanding! Have enjoyed this restaurant for many, many years, and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

We have tried all chinese restaurants in the birmingham area, my wife and I have settled with this restaurant. The food is great, people are friendly, and the price is right.

When I was first introduced to Chinese foods in America this is the place my parents took us. They were located in the Five Points West area and they were great then. Well I didn't know Formosa still existed in Birmingham but to my surprise here they are. Formosa is by far the best chinese food in this area I've have since I've been eating it. The service is fantastic and always pleasant for me and my wife,who I had the opportunity to introduce to Formosa, and we are both in agreement that this place serves excellent food and provides excellent service. I totally recommend them, they are great!

This restaurant has excellent food. The soups are not as good as other restaurants, where I have dined. The service is excellent.
