El Palomar is absolutely the place to go when you're in Santa Cruz. The food is excellently flavored with substantial portions. There is an extensive menu including fresh fish, chicken, vegitarian dishes, and the best carne asada I've ever tasted! They also have a full bar open all day and two in the evenings. Their Margaritas are TO DIE FOR and have been voted "Best Margarita" in Santa Cruz multiple times. Its a great place to go for couples or with friends. reservations are excepted and encouraged Sun-Thurs evenings and seven days a week at lunch for parties of six or more.
