Restaurant Description

El Fogon serves the best authentic Latin American Cuisine in North Dallas. Ecuadorian, Peruvian, and Tex-Mex entrees are our specialty. Enjoy an array of succulent Latin-American food that will keep you coming back.

The Ecuadorians have a passion for bold flavors but without all the fire that some Latin cuisine presents. It's the harmonious balance of savory, earthy and a little sweet.

Peruvians on the other hand enjoy the spice. The flavors pop but don't burn and the seafood, we let's just say they truly appreciate what mother earth has to offer and more than do it justice.

The spiciest thing going at El Fogon is the weekend nightlife. Dinner, dancing and a few margaritas and you will be on your own personal trip south of the equator.

Food was decent and was like "home cooking". Not Americanized Latin food. Only complaint is the place smelled like the bathroom and was not very clean.

The service was pretty slow. Food was not great. With a $25 gift certificate, they only lower our bill by $15.

Nice atmosphere. Portions small for price. Skirt steak plate with 4 oz steak, plaintains, beans and veg is about $15.00. Best deal is Tues &Thurs $2.00 Mojitos and 1/2 price Margarita. The Mojitos are very good.

This place was a complete mess, from the minute we walked in. Service was slow, the place was dirty and the food was sooooooo not Peruvian food. Call it whatever you want to call it, but it was not Peruvian food. The prices were too high for the poor quality and that place could easily be mistaken for a hole in the wall bar rather than a restaurant. The chef was more focused on flirting with other customers and getting phone numbers than actually taking care of the orders in the kitchen and the manager/owner didn't seem to care at all. I'm glad we found this other little place close by. I'd give it a second chance, but I have my doubts.
