We generally aren't seafood fans, but because of the good ratings, we tried it. The seafood was great! Friday evening, the parking lot was nearly full, but we still got seated immediately. We'll be back!

I have to get my Coopers "fix" once a month! Coopers has by far the best seafood in town! I don't even like oysters but I gladly eat them here. The food is always cooked to perfection. They are so consistent . The appetizers are so varied and all so good that it is very difficult to decide, but try them all you won't be dissappointed. Everything on the menu is worth trying for that matter but my favorite is the crab bisque! The quality and taste are simply unsurpassed. The restaurant in Scranton has the most ambiance but I visit both of them all simply for the great food. If you like seafood this place will quickly become you favorite restaurant. I have a girlfriend that surprised her husband for his birthday by driving him to Scranton from Philly just so they could go to Cooper's for his bday dinner! That's how good this place is!

Coopers is the best place in scranton to eat. Voted the best restaurant year after year in the two local papers and rated in the top 100 rtestaurants in the USA!

We were here about a year ago but the place has slipped horribly since then. The food quality was horrid and the preparation not much better. We had to wait forever for our server but those items weren't even the bad part. There is absolutely no excuse for the uncleanliness. Soap is cheap and virtually everything needed it. The ambiance is certainly unique and entertaining but is not worth the drawbacks. This is a classic example of management ruining a good thing by sitting back on their laurels. It's sad to see this happen to what once was a fun place to go.

WOW You can not miss this place. When we pulled into the parking lot we were greeted to a sight like no other. A huge life sized pirate ship adorned with pirates and a attacking octopus! What a entrance. To the left of the ship sits a lighthouse that is just being build. We were told it will house a gift shop on the first floor and a second floor bar! To the right of the ship is the dock a crab shack atmosphere with a more relaxed vibe and separate menu! Looked like a great place to spend a night! We headed in to find there would be a small wait to get a table. They gave us our number and told us we could wait at the ship or the old bar. We opted for the old bar and were sent down the hall. this was amazing on either side of the long hallway were old photos of Scranton's past. When we made it to the old room we snuggled up to the bar and ordered a beer. What kind the bartender asks? Well what do you have I reply. . . oh about 300 bottles and 34 taps!! WOW I Never say so much beer in my life!! I opted for a frambois (bartender recommended) and was it good! After a short 10 min wait we were buzzed and headed to our table. This place is HUGE! We ate in a nice boot in the WHALE ROOM. This room had a huge whale right in the center of the room. The other room is know as the Train room and has a large train that runs around the room through dioramas. The food here was even better than the decor! We started with some alligator bites, blue crab dip, bisque (WOW the best) and bayou shrimp to split for appetizers then Lobster dinner, steak, Chicken Parm and Almond Talapia is what we ordered and everything was wonderful. Our server, Luis, was one of the nicest servers i have ever had. Thank you coopers for a great experience we will definitely return!

I could't wait to try Cooper's I saw their ad in Happening's magazine. I found the food to be fair at best. The Crab Bisque which claimed had been in Bon Appetite magazine tasted like cod with flour and milk. The seasonal beer I had was outstanding. The piece of haddock I tasted was to dry. I did enjoy the dessert, it was the best rice pudding I ever had. The waitress seemed to busy and we constantly were looking for her.

Awesome service, atmosphere, entertainment, food, portions, prices, selection, location! We travel across the state just to eat there. We always leave full & happy!

Going there from Schuykill County I found the atmosphere very relaxing & was able to feel like I fit right in. The vast items on the menu of drinks & foods gives a wide choice. The booths are quite comfy and found the food to be of top quality. I got surf & turf & it was done to perfection! I plan on going again, as soon as I am able to. I would recommend Cooper's to anyone, as I really enjoyed the experience! I'd like to visit the Scranton one in the near future too! Got 4 stars from this diner!

Incredibly overrated seafood place. The soups and pub grub are usually reliable and their beer list is excellent. Beyond that, the place feels more like slightly upscale fast food. Thin slices of tuna cooked beyond recognition and most other fish drowning in heavy cream and cheese sauces plus a terrible wine list.

Ever since my daughter enrolled at the University several years ago, we have been a regular at Cooper's when in town visiting. Although I was very pleased with the overall value, I was even more impressed with the quality and quantity of the food served. As for the staff, they are friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help if you have any questions or problems. My only regret is that I live so far away.

There are few soups better than Cooper's seafood bisque - thick, creamy, not the lease bit fishy or lumpy - a bowl and a huge baked potato make a great dinner for under $7. How can you not love a restaurant that has a life-size whale hanging from the ceiling? Beware, on Fridays and Saturdays, expect a wait of over an HOUR for a table since they don't accept reservations.Th place can be incredibly busy and a bit on the messy side.
