Colonial Steak House has been a local favorite in the Pine Bluff area since 1973. The original restaurant was in a Colonial Style Antebellum Home that was over 100 years old. One Saturday night after closing, there was an electrical fire in the kitchen and the home burned to the ground.Since 1987, its home has been in another historical building. The restaurant is inside an old schoolhouse that was built in 1912. Around 1941, the schoolhouse was home to a vocational school for war veterans returning from WWII.
For many years the building sat vacant. After the original Colonial Steak House burned, the owners decided to refurbish the old schoolhouse and make it home to the restaurant.
