I have eaten at Casablanca ( at this site and the earlier site ) over four times and it is my golden standard of a wonderful dining experience. The food is always original, fresh and excellent. The bounty of food itself is a signature of the place where you are EXPECTED to stay for the three hours that the meal and entertainment will run. On occassion the after meal events can include raunchy jokes but less so these days. If you haven't left with a strong impression of Chef Assad's personality - then you just haven't been paying attention.

I felt that the dining experience for my husband and myself was way too long. 3 hours from start to finish. The food from course to course was not cohesive. You need to be very adventurous because if there is something you don't like, your stuck. The food is very fresh, and tasty. The waitstaff did not know what the courses were that they would be serving us which I thought was strange. I would have preferred them to come out and let us know what each course would be. This way, if something was coming which we didn't think sounded good, we could concentrate on the courses we liked and enjoyed.

I ate at Casablanca for the very first time just days ago. I have wanted to eat there for years. Several times throughout the evening I said, "This is the finest dining experience of my life." However, at the end of the evening I felt overwhelmed and overfed. I felt the amount of food was outrageously over the top, not unlike an orgy. I think several courses is wonderful, the food and flavors unmatched in my experience, however, I felt ashamed at the sheer quantity of food presented. It seems to me that serving portions (an entire chicken per person as the last course is over the top)that are sensible and not a complete meal in each course would make for a better dining experience. It could help keep the cost down as well. Again, I felt shame at the sheer quantity of food in an overindulgent world.

I had visited this restaurant almost 10 yrs ago when it was just outside of LaCrosse and was elated to see they had opened again! This is by far the best dining experience I have had, all things included. The chef is excellent and uses only the finest ingredients. The Moroccan ambience, combined with a wonderful variety of food makes this the best place I have visited. It's not all fancy-schmancy and stuck-up, but the food is phenomenal and it really is a lot of fun to visit. If you go, plan on at least two hours because there's a lot of food! You absolutely won't be disappointed, and the price is extremely inexpensive for what you get.

Anyone wanting a spectacular dinner in LaCrosse needs to visit here. Strong flavors rule, as Chef Asaad offers spectatular combinations of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean ingredients in a prix-fixe environment. Expect to spend several hours here, where dinner is both a relaxed and highly entertaining affair.

I have visited Casablanca multiple times over quite a few years, in the earlier Onalaska location and the current site, and always leave consistently both satisfied and amazed.

It's a fine experience, and one every diner ought to be able to appreciate at least one in life.

Without a question, the BEST meal I had, while visting my daughter in La Crosse. As a working Chef (25yrs+), this place is right on. The quality and quantity for the price just blew me away. As a rule I don’t like to recommend restaurants to people, as more times than not, I’m not happy with the food (my daughter used to hate going out for dinner with me), check this place out. The only complaint I have is, I allowed someone else to select a wine to go with dinner, live and learn. I’ll pick the bottle next time.
Oh, stay away from Hackberrys, unless you want really overpriced, poorly prepared, slapped on a plate food. They should drop the berry from the name and just call it hacks.
