that person down below from Stevens Point obviously is overreacting. My grandfather owns this restaurant and for one, we dont serve bread ROLLS, they are pieces of garlic bread. and for two, we would NEVER serve it burnt black!! So i stop being harsh over nothin. and the hostess that invited you in was either my GRANDMA (owner of restaurant) or my aunt. and neither of them would not be nice when coming into the restaurant or when you are leaving. GIVE ME A BREAK. your type of restaurant must be burger king then so stick to that.

I have been a regular here at Carmelo's for ten years now, and plan to be until I can't anymore! This place is great, always busy, but sitting at the bar chatting over drinks, makes time fly by and next thing I know, our table is ready! Waitresses all have great sense of humor and know how to interact well with customers. If I could get on a loud speaker and tell everyone in and around Wausau to go to Carmelo's, I sure would!!

This is the best place I have eaten in years. I went with some friends on a Friday night and I have never had that much fun eating out on a Friday night. We were greated as we walked in and the hostess took our name and told us it will be a two hour wait. This place was jam packed and people were laughing and drinking. The wait didn't bother us as we sat having a great time with the bartendars. The hostess came and got us exactly 2 hours later (never once did she have to ask us what are name was). The food was excellent and the service sublime. I will recommend this to everyone and become a frequent visitor.

I wanted to go out on a double date and go to a nice place, so I wanted to check this place out. I am 18 as well as the others who were with me. Anyway when we first arrived the hostess was not eager to meet us or seat us, made it seem like a hassle. Then after being seated our waitress was very efficent and nice. However, they serve bread rolls before the meal--ours were burnt--BLACK, and we were given those without any apology. So we managed with our burnt bread and got along fine. Then we noticed the price of this restuarant. Very costly and not worth what you get-- granted the food was delicious. Then when we paid the hostess was very eager to shoe us out of the door. I'm sure older couples would enjoy this place but its not one for college students (even if you are dressed up). I just don't recommend it and I would never go back.
