Well I have to agree with the sub-par comments. When it comes to hoagies, they need to make what's ordered, not what they feel like making. As for the person from Texas, sounds like a "paid advertisement"!

I'm from Texas and was visiting my daughters in Newark. During a time when they had other plans, I stopped in at Capelli's. It wasn't busy during that time and I thought it had a nice atmosphere. I asked for a signature sandwich and the "Porkette" was recommended along with Old Bay fries and a nice cold coke. The girl working there was very friendly. Kinda hot too. ? Holy freaking cow that sandwich ROCKS!!! I did in fact wanna slap my momma it was soo good. The pork was seasoned perfectly; slow roasted with the right herbs, garlic and onion. As for Old Bay seasoning on nice plump fries - does it get better than that? (Not taking into account my BBQ that is.) I'm sure as with other establishments, Capelli's isn't perfect. I'm sure that sometimes, they will not give you as much lettuce as you would like, but as for me? I'm a Porkette lover! (and not a rabbit)

Your DEFINATELY DON'T get what you pay for!! They make your order the way THEY think it should be made and hardly & meat! If I wanted meal of only a couple of slices of meat & cheese on bread that's what I would have ordered. I ordered a sub ~ they put some meat, cheese, lettuce (I think - that's how little I got), 3 VERY thinly sliced tomatoes & HOT peppers which I did NOT order! I will NEVER go back again............

I see they did NOT improve since February. Tonights order had hot peppers on a hoagie that wasn't requested, no mayo on the other, 1/2 the meat they used to put on, hardly any lettuce to say there was any. My dinner was ruined. SO NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will NEVER give them any more of my money!

I have found Capelli's to be sub-par when it comes to their subs. I requested no onions, ok so they didn't put onions on my sub but they also forgot the tomatoes and barely any lettuce! Basically all I got was a meat & chees sandwich on a sub roll, not what I requested & paid for!

They obviously don't like if you ask for no onions because when I requested no onions, I also got barely enough lettuce to choke a canary and NO tomatoes...............then I tried to call after I got home & opened up my sub to find basically only meat & cheese but they wouldn't answer their phone........I was there to order a lunch time, not long after they opened...........and I didn't have the time to go back to get what I paid for..........
