I would go back there for the strawberry margaritas alone! They were the best I've ever had! The chili was disappointing, but the tacos were yummy!

the food here is great but the service, oh my god. we waited 15 minutes from when we were seated to the time we were acknowleged with chips and salsa, another 10 minutes before we were given the opportunity to order drinks and 10 minutes after that till we got them. a few minutes after that we were able to order our food and things got normal from there.

I have been chasing the best tamales from California, to Chicago to Cabo San Lucas Mexico and let me tell you, no one makes them better than Cafe Azteca. I am also a HUGE fan of Frida Kahlo and her artwork and photos decorate the restaurant, along with poetry on the walls. It's wonderful. And one must always leave room for desert! Fried dough with ice cream, chocolate sauce, honey and cinnamon - heavenly.

Great place for family fun. Also an eclectic night spot for grown-ups. Cafe Azteca's food is not only authentic Mexican (like mama used to make), but it's fresh, well-presented and reasonably priced. The restaurant has expanded a few times -- which speaks to its growing popularity. Plus, as a thriving owner-operated business, it's helping revitalize the Greater Lawrence area. Cafe Azteca es muy bueno!

My husband and I went to Cafe Azteca when we lived there back in 1999 and we are still trying to find a wonderful Mexican restaurant like them here in Texas where we live now. The head cook is who we asked to prepare our meals his name was Antonio and he is the best. He makes wonderful Bistec Chilango which is spicy just the way we like it. I personally liked the Chimichangas.

we went to cafe azteca for dinner and ordered chicken chimichangas and chicken burritos. My husband ordered his chimichanga spicy but it wasn't at all. The food was like eating boiled chicken wrapped in tortillas. Very bland and no flavor. The waitress forgot the guacomole that we ordered. Very disappointed in our meals, all three of us.

We have never been disappointed at Cafe Azteca! We have been going there since it opened and always take friends to show them how great it is. The food is great, the people wonderful, and the ambiance reminds us of being back in Mexico. The best mole' sauce this side of mexico! This is a keeper..... Newly enlarged last year and taking credit cards and with the new bar is is understandable why the secret is out!

The food was very good but the Margaritas were not. They had a funny taste and skimpy on the tequila.

We love Cafe Azteca for lunch or dinner. They are opening a bar now to serve more than just beer and sangria. CASH Only no CC's but very very good. Excellent friendly place. Kid friendly but parents should better watch their noisy kids.

After reading reviews of this restaurant I was anticipating the experience and I am sorry to say that it fell far short of my expectations! The salsa was tasteless, the tortilla chips were thick and cold. The Chile rellenos were so small and the rice was dry and tasteless. I will never waste my money on this place again! I am only sorry that the food paled in comparison to the excellent service.

We love eating here. Don't dress up. Casual. For the kids, there's a kid's menu as well as a yummy chicken rice soup from the apppetizer list. For the rest of us, the regular menu includes unusual ingredients like cactus, mole poblano (chocolate), and other surprises. Great food for good price. And the sangria is wonderful, full of pears.

Cafe Azteca offers the only truly authentic Mexican cuisine in the Massachusetts/New Hampshire area outside of Boston. The chips and salsa are homemade and plentiful, and the menu offers a wide variety of choices. The Chile Rellenos are exquisitely prepared and completely delicious! Cafe Azteca's prices are ridiculously reasonable, the food outrageous, the atmosphere pleasant, but the service is slow because this too small restaurant is always packed.
