My wife and I had driven down to Bangor from Presque Isle. Looking for a place to eat, we went to Bugaboo Creek. Upon entering the door, we were told there would be a 30-40 minute wait. 10 minutes later, we were seated. A very good plus! I ordered the smothered chicken. Amazing. Juicy, great BBQ sauce, the chicken jest fell apart when cutting...Topped with melted cheese and bacon...Just a fabulous meal. My wife ordered a chicken and pasta alfredo, she was just blown away. Our server, Kim, just as polite as can be, checked on us regularly, took great care of us. For $33.00 for a dinner for 2, I can't complain about that either. The only thing that bugs me is all the birthday songs we had to listen to. I avoid Ruby Tuesdays for this reason and to have to listen to it some place else, kind of ruined the experience just a little bit. Over all, a great place to enjoy a great meal.

I think the restaurant has a very relaxed feeling. But I've noticed the take out isnt the same quailty. The meal was smaller. I ordered a chicken ceaser salad and it was terrible. I've dined in side many times so and the quailty and quanity was better. And the samon my husband ordered was prepared slopy. But out of the many times we've ate there we've been satisfied.

The food is fairly good with a few standouts (Charlie's Smashed potatoes are excellent), and if you're going for steak, shrimp, or chicken, you'll be quite pleased. The international cuisine is a little shy (the scampi is not as flavorful as it could be and the Cajun dishes are definitely mild; of course we are in Maine). Kids will love the talking animals and adults will be amused up to the first three times they talk. Hopefully your meal will be complete by then because patience may be stretched past that point. Most entrees are over $10 with the most expensive being around $18. All are preceeded by a delicious brown bread served with soft butter, which they happily give you extra servings of. The deserts are very rich and definitely deserve to come home with you.
Overall, if you feel like tasty, basic food in a lively atmosphere, choose Bugaboo.
