Got talking about Alfredo sauce and well, after thinking about Alfredo's in Rome, I thought of Umberto's. And, I was not thinking about Alfredo sauce, but rather the best Pasta Carbonara I've ever had. Now this was some time ago as I lived in Ft. Lauderdale between '91 and '96. What I remember is that the restaurant is quaint and you get a cup of soup, a small salad, your entree and spumoni all included in the price of the entree. And, the carbonara was the tastiest I've ever had...creamy with onions and pancetta bacon. I would even have it delivered.
