BEWARE of this place, I've been to many Indian restaurants and this was one of the worst...food was reheated, the keema naan and samosa tasted old....Lamb Korma was floating in spicy water..they charge you for extra rice.....Service was terrible...staff was rude...and they ask you to add the tip to the bill upfront before they run your credit card....very shady..

One of the most unique dining spots in this town. The menu is diverse if not interesting and everything so far has tasted extremely good. The food is normally not real spicy unless you ask for it.... and then they will be glad to oblige.

I always enjoy going to Sitar of India. The staff has been friendly and the food is always wonderful, and much cheaper than many Indian restaurants.

food was just okay, nothing spectacular - i have had better but that would have been fine in itself if the service was not appalling. we had a very rude waiter and felt vindicated in not tipping him.

It is very rare for my wife and I to go out to eat in Charleston and not eat at Sitar of India. Great food, very little on the menu I don't like. The menu is typical of Indian restaurants in the US, but the quality is as good or better than the vast majority of Indian restaurants I've been to at major urban centers on either coast.

I recently returned from New York City where we ate at an expensive Indian restaurant and a cheaper one - Sitar of Charleston was much better than either. It is light-years better than an Indian restaurant I visited last December in Washington, DC.

Good variety of Indian food, all was pretty good (I tried everybody's). Nothing too fancy, just a nice dinner out. Overall a nice dining experience.

In a safe, clean part of downtown Charleston.
