good restaraunt, wait staff is poor but they dont have enough workers when it gets too busy so its understandable. chefs are very personable and friendly and the food is really good! what more could you want. you may wait awhile, we waited 40 min and we had reservations! but other than the wait and not enough staff members sapporo is a 4 star for us! the prices are better than ichiban and the portions are well. we love hibachi and sapporo is definitely our type of hibachi! and the shrimp sauce yum yum! and you must order fried rice an extra 3bucks but its worth it, i recommend the chicken broccoli it is superb!

To start, the plates were so filthy my wife had to use a baby wipe to clean them off. One of the glasses even had lip prints on it. We were convinced the dishes weren't washed at all, even though we were the first patrons to dine there that evening. When the waiter took our order he asked how we would like our rice prepared (plain or fried). Assuming there was no difference in price we ordered it fried. Only to find out when we got the bill that fried rice costs $3.00 extra, including for children, which added $12 to our bill. We also ordered and paid for extra vegetables, which were split up between everyone at our table, my family getting the least. Our chef was very personable until he got into an argument with the chef at the next table. It made for a very uncomfortable experience for everyone at both tables. Adding to the misery, the mens room was extremely small & the ladies room had no paper towels. To pay $85 for poor service and poor food served on dirty plates was completely outrageous. We will never eat there again.

about 6 months ago came in sat down ordered alcoholic drinks ands then asked for sushi menu and the waitresses told us that their sushi chef is sick. so great we come to a hibachi place that has a sushi bar sign lit and in every advertisement and their website says they have sushi. chefs food wasnt too bad but the service sucked. coming here just expect the staff to be rude and lazy.
we went a few weeks ago and the same thing. sushi light is on and theres no sushi. the ad i got from the paper advertises sushi and the waitress told us sorry we dont have the stuff to make sushi. then our chef comes out and he tells us as long as he worked their that they have never had sushi ever. this place is a joke

sapporo japanese steakhouse has the best food ive ever eatin, hands down, the shrimp sauce is ten times better than ichiban or samurai, they may not do all the tricks, but they oook the food better than any japanese steakhouse that ive ever been too, the wait can sometimes be bad, but thats like any resaurant of this kind, its unreasonable if there is 8 seats and only 2 people at the table, then 3 minutes later a group of 5 walk in, now ur screwed, take the restaurant for what it is, a good solid place to eat, i mean hey 2 things they have the best food, and kareokee

One of the worst dining experiences i have had. The signature of japanese dining is outstanding service and food preparation. This place has neither. We were seated for at least one hour before chef actually starting serving us. Chef was self absorbed, spending most of the time talking about himself, making the whole experience more disjointed. Food was okay but expensive, $20 for 6 oz sirloin, bowl of rice, 2 shrimp, 1/4 zucchini, 3 mushrooms, lettuce, and some thin broth is pretty crazy. Entertainment value was minimal after long wait.
Many items on their menu(sushi and tempura) couldn't be served, because they were "out" of it, but it was only 5:30pm, which leads me to believe they just didn't prepare.

Service staff was apathetic and very slow, meandering around the entrance talking with each other, rather than making sure drinks are filled and plates are cleared.
I will never go here again, this place is a joke.
