My wife and I and friens have been going to Sam's since the present management opened. We have have many special occasions there, private dinners, birthdays and holidays, large and small parties. The owners are the most friendly and accomodating. It's like you are visting their home. The meals and drinks and reasonable and generous.

Wow what a change from the old Eddie's. Iloved it. The staff was so friendly and on top of things. $3.99 for a great hamburger? That can not be beat. Drinks are cheap too. My wife and kids had a good time. I will go back!

My wife and myself and another couple go out nearly every week to usually a different restaurant in the area of Barrington through Arlington Heights including Palatine and Schaumburg.

Today we went to Sam's in Arlington Heights. I must admit that the food was good. I had the perch my wife the seafood on pasta. My male friend had the stuffed peppers and his wife, a sandwich.

Unfortunately, the service was terrible! The waitresses were almost surely and completely ignored us. I had to put my salad plate on an adjoining table to get it out of the way because the waitress left it on the small table where we were eating. We then asked a buss boy to refill our drinks, because the waitress was nowhere to be found. He refilled one drink and then hurried off. I then got up and went to the bar to get our other drinks refilled where another waitress refilled them apparently under protest and told me that they charged for drink refills. (An aside, We have never been charged for soft drink refills at any of the many, many other restaurants we have attended, although at Sam's they charge $1.50 for soft drinks. Some of the other restaurants charge $2.00 and some $2.50 - but at Sam's, two drinks cost $3.00)

We then wanted to have carryout boxes, but after a long wait I finally sought out the Manager, the owner I think, and asked him if we could get some carry out boxes and our bill. He seemed to think that there was no problem. We won't go back.

This is your typical Greek coffee shop. Great food at good prices and friendly service. Their soups are particularly good. If you like fish and any type of fish special is "Greek style" you definitely have to order it -- it's seasoned with (I think) Cavender's Greek Seasoning and charcoal grilled.
