Jackson Restaurant Guide

Mississippi needs more variety in their dining, and Ruchi provides a great option. We don't live in Jackson, but ate at their old location several times and their new location is even better!

The food was very authentic (as good as the food I have gotten from Indian restaurants overseas), and on Sunday afternoon the crowd was probably over 50% Asian Indian, letting you know they feel the food is authentic as well.

Perhaps some of the other reviewers weren't used to this multi-cultural experience, but I appreciate the differences between the service at Ruchi and the "rushed" feel of so many chain restaurants. I make eating at Ruchi a priority when I'm in Jackson around mealtime.

I have been to Ruchi several times, and enjoy it very much. We just tried out the new location and it seems that they have some new staff, but the service was good. I must say I enjoy the lunch buffet because it is often a bit cheaper. But my wife and I like to go there on "date night" sometimes too. Overall I would give it 4 stars. Try it out if your looking for something different - it is Indian ;-)...

I took my family of four to this restaurant for lunch. My children consist of a 3-year-old and a 4-month-old. The restaurant tried to charge us for four buffets. When I pointed out that one of our party was an infant, instead of apologizing, the waiter questioned if I was sure she did not eat anything. I said yes, especially since she does not yet eat solid food and was asleep in her infant carrier the entire time!
My 3-year-old did not eat anything either except for a pb&J sandwich we had brought with us for him (since we knew he's a picky eater). I did, however, give him one or two bites off of my plate, so I didn't make an issue of their charging for him.
But then, after removing the charge for my 4-month-old daughter, the waiter said he forgot to charge for two of our drinks, so he added that to the bill. Not once did he apologize.
I rarely complain, my family eats out often, and I am usually generous with tipping. But this restaurant is no longer on our list of restaurants to patronize.

I just got food catered from this restaurant. As the food was good, the service was very poor! They forgot to bring many things essential to the party. We had ALOT of food leftover from the party. Without asking my family if we wanted the leftover food--they took ALL of it with them to serve at their buffet the next day. And they had the audacity to blame us for not speaking up..i mean we werent busy with our guests from out of town or
anything! Anyways my advice to anyone who gets food catered from here..please be cautious and get everything in writing!
