La Strada's roots began in 2004 with the purchase of The International Deli in the heart of the Brentwood Village. Rebecca and Simone felt that the Brentwood Village was one of the only locations they had come across in Los Angeles which was similar to that of a small Italian neighborhood. This, combined with the size of the location, made it the perfect fit to begin their dream. Luckily for Simone and Rebecca, The International Deli already had a loyal and established clientele, which warmly welcomed them into the neighborhood and were eager to see what Italian influences Simone would bring to the establishment. And so they began: first with hot Italian specialties - personal favorites of Simone's, then by introducing Italy 's premiere Italian coffee, Illy caffe'. Last, but certainly not least, the introduction of an extensive menu of traditional Panini sandwiches.
We visited this restaurant when we were visiting California. It was truly a fine dining experience. The food was delicious and the ambiance was a delightful. The sweet potato pudding is the best north of Haiti. TiGeorges was a hospitable host.
