Wonderful food. I don't eat ribs; but my wife thinks their's are the best. I love the pull-pork dinner. Sides are delicious: collard greens, black=eyed peas, corn, french fries, mashed potatoes, candied yams, etc.
This place is always packed. Thus, you should vi ew my review accordingly. The food is under cooked for my taste. No msg means less flavor. The waiters mean well; but there are too few for such a busy place. Waiters are harried and service is spotty. The fried rice was the worst I've ever ...
I celebrated my 44th Birthday at your fine restaurant. When in NY I always dine at the Dallas BBQ located at 72nd Street Central Park West, but from now on I will definitely dine at Virgil's. The food was delicious and the drinks were awesome. Keep Up the Good Work!!!!

The ribs were just alright. Nothing fantastic. The service lacks because it looks like they don't have enough help. Given the good location, it stays crowded each and everyday. There wasn't anything unique on the menu and I think that's what makes or breaks a place.
Jimmy's is the king of spare ribs. None of that baby back stuff here. The side dishes are excellent as well. Believe me, you won't go home hungry. And plus that have great specials on weekends.
excellent bar-b-que, don't miss the beans. reasonable prices and cold beer.
