 No need for Brookline folks to travel to Chinatown for an inexpensive meal—not when they can dine here. The kitchen does a nice job with hot and sour soup. It's both spicy and tart, with lots of tofu and wood ear. (Vegans take note: It's meatless.) Crab rangoon, the deep-fried, cream cheese–stuffed staple of Chinese-American menus, is well done with lots of crabmeat in the filling. Chow foon has a good proportion of meat-to-noodle. "Strange flavored" chicken is not so strange. It's a stir-fry of chicken, snow peas and baby corn in a tomato-based sauce. Eating on a budget? Luncheon specials (served between 11:30am and 4pm) offer a selection of appetizers, soups, steamed or fried rice and several dozen entrees, all for under $5.95. ...
