As a loyal customer w/ family for a number of years, I was extremely disappointed on a recent visit and will never go back again. First off, if you arrive at 8:30pm on any night - even weekend nights - be prepared to be told to rush your order because their kitchen stops cooking promptly at 9:00pm....
This place STINKS! The waitress actually brought us a dish WE DID NOT ORDER, then actually brought it back to the kitchen and WASHED IT with water and TRIED TO BRING IT BACK TO US!! When we refused to give these lunatics a tip, they actually complained and tried to tell us NEVER TO COME BACK! Don...
This place is terrible. If you read the reviews saying "I grew up three blocks from there" then the guy probably DELIVERS for them. The carpet looks like it has never been cleaned. The fishtank is grungy. And, the service--let me tell you the male waiter is a bizarre. Read the other reviews. H...
Some dishes taste like Mom used to make--the hand made pork potstickers, the hot and sour soup, and yes, the seafood dishes are real seafood. The service depends on who you get. A wonderful woman who always makes you feel like you're a regular keeps us going there. A rather small thin severe gent...
I have been going to Chang's for the last 8 years and I have always enjoyed it but today (May 18, 2007) I tried to place an order over the phone and the guy who answered the phone was so rude and hardly spoke any English- I could not even place the order. too bad!! FOOD IS EXCELLENT
At Chang's, when you order a shrimp dish, that's what you get. Shrimp, and lots of it. No filler like those other Chinese places. And the food is super fresh and cheap for how much you get. Chang's has been a Brentwood staple for 20 years; the last time I was there I saw Peter Falk and Dennis Quaid....
I have eaten chinese food in Los Angeles for most of my adult life, and no matter how many new places I try, I keep coming back to Chang's. Easily the best Chinese seafood I've eaten in Los Angeles. I am always seated quickly, and combined with the always-prompt service, I highly recommend Chang's...
A hidden gem. This place has the best chinese food for miles. The owner is there EVERY day so they are consistently amazing, you will never have a bad meal here. I highly recommend it.
WITHOUT A DOUBT THE BEST QUALITY CHINESE FOOD IN LOS ANGELES. ALBERT AND POLLY CHANG USE ONLY THE BEST INGREDIENTS AND THE PREPARATION IS SUPBERB. THIS MAY BE THE BEST KEPT SECRET IN LOS ANGELES. I ALMOST DON'T WANT TO WRITE THIS FOR FEAR THAT THEY WILL BE COME TOO BUSY AND THEN I WON'T BE...
Whoever wrote that first review is OUT OF THEIR MIND! I grew up three blocks from Chang's, and every holiday and special occasion was spent there...including birthdays! We even kept Polly abrest when we started shopping for a home in the neighborhood, and to this day, not once has she not personal...
I have eaten at this restaurant since it has opened. It has always been great. All restaurants have an off day, but that has been very seldom over the years with Chang's. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who loves Chinese food.
Chang's is the best short-lunch-break restaurant. It has that feel of a friendly, family owned place that gives you a realistic dining experience. I would recommend the chicken curry, which by far, after visiting many asian restaurants in the LA area has been the best. I wish all the best success to...
The best Chinese food ever and the staff are terrific. It's the favorite of all my friends as well. The ambiance is somewhat lacking (it's in a small, older building) but the food more than compensates for it. We even go there for special occasions despite its casual decor.
This was one of the best dim sum I've had in a long long time. Ocean Seafood had a lobster dumpling that was excellent. If you are like me and order your desserts along with your savory items then you will truly enjoy the baked custard buns! They were amazing! Not only were they huge but very tas...
