Pakeeza is a wonderful restaurant that is a bit off the beaten path on N. Orleans Street in the River North district of Chicago. My partner and I have gone back a second time during our annual summer trip to Chicago because of the authentic atmosphere, friendly service, and AMAZING and inexpensive food. This place is not for everyone, however. If you are expecting air conditioned seating and a waiter that serves you, try another place. It appeared to my partner and I that this restaurant commonly serves the local community, and not tourists as much. Pakeeza is a unique gem and if someone is willing to try it and be a bit outside one's comfort zone, it should be a marvelous experience.
