Who knew you had to drive to the mountains to get good seafood! We have a vacation home on the NC coast and the seafood at Mike's is as good or better than any I have eaten at the coast. The place is simple, the service is polite and prompt and the food is outstanding. The oysters are plump, the shrimp are cooked to perfection, and the steamed crab legs on special were great! This is not a fancy gourmet white tablecloth kind of place and it doesn't pretend to be. But if you like fried or broiled seafood served with the usual sides served with a generous portion of friendly service, you have found the right spot! The ONLY complaint is that the chairs are those wooden slat back ones that can get a little hard pretty quick. Mike's knows how to do what they do right!
