Its sad when a restaurant does not take pride in their food and it's apparent here. To the casual diner who has only eaten Mexican food only at Mexicali Rosas, they may not know what they are missing.
The food does not have a fresh flavor, the taste is bland and some dishes come across as "pre-prepared". Mexican food should taste alive and fresh. This is a sad excuse for Mexican food and I will not be returning, ever.

I ate at Mexicali Rosa's on September 11, 2008 during a busy time and after I finished my meal I seen a mouse scurry accross the floor. I brought it to the attention of a waiter that was cleaning and he said "Why didn't you catch it for us?!" To my knowledge mice will not go out into the open during the day or when there is a lot of noise unless the location is completely infested with them.
