Im from Beloit and was recently introduced to the fondue concept a couple years ago by my husband (recently married). We LOVE coming to Lucernes for special occasions or maybe just some time alone. Lucernes provides an intimate dining expereience and great food and customer service. I love that Lucernes is privately owned. We have been to other fondue restaraunts but our favorite remains; Lucernes! You get a huge amount of food for the money and the bill is about average to what we would spend at an applebees or other similar restaraunt in the area. I highly recommend Lucernes to any and everyone that is open to a whole new level of dining experiences!

My wife and I always escape to Lucernes whenever we get alone time. We have been to every quality eatery within 50 miles of Rockford, and Lucernes is in the top 2. Don't change a thing!!

We had an incredible dining experience!! The meal starts with a basket of sliced fruit and breads and melted cheese for dipping. This is followed with a house salad. The main course is your choice of three meats and a very large platter of assorted vegetables. I had the beef tenderloin, lobster, and shrimp. My husband had the ostrich, shrimp and chicken. All were very good. You cook your own meal at the table. It was wonderful. Then there is dessert. A large basket of fruit, marshmallows, and pound cake with melted chocolate/ caramel for dipping. Truly exceptional.

We have gone to Lucerne's for a few years and have always had a wonderful time. We try to go on special occasions. We just went for Valentine's Day and we had a late reservation because they were booked. I wasn't pleased with the stale bread and croutons, nor was I pleased with the owner's rushed and almost rude attitude. I have to agree that it needs to be cleaned badly! But all in all, we usually have a good time there; just don't go at the end of a busy holiday.

I love Lucene's. We have been going there a number of years. Mark is always pleasant and sets out to make sure your dining experience is as pleasurable an experience as possible. He takes time to inform you of the different courses, and stops at your table frequently to ensure that you have everything you need. He does this no matter how busy the dining rooms are. The food is plentiful, and we like going there because the atmosphere encourages us to slow down and spend quality time, as a couple or in a group. We have taken friends, parents, grown children and even our grandson here. Everyone loves the food. Of course the best part of the meal is the dessert fondue--yummy- need I say more! The meal prices are reasonable and if you get the chance-- ask Mark for a tour of the building- very unique for those who've not been in an actual Victorian house.

My girlfriend took me to Lucernes and I was thinking fondue come on but the girlfriend wanted to go. I was really surprised at the quanity and quality of the food(left stuffed). It was a real relaxed dinning enviorment and the wait staff was always there when the drink was getting low. I will go back and bring a group next time because the group of 10 or so a few tables over were having a blast as well. My friends need to give it a try, a real find in old Rockford.

I absolutely love Lucerne's! I went there for the first time about 6 years, and i continue to dine there every chance i have to celebrate something special! The owner Mark is absolutely fabulous and does everything possible to ensure you are thoroughly satisfied. This restaurant is certainly a diamond in the rough... not something you would expect to find in rockford!

Wonderful food, great service and relaxing atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this for a nice evening with friends or family. There is so much food that the meal can last about 2 hours, but well worth the time.

That last person to review is sooo wrong. This place is lovely!! Quit romantic and not dirty at all. Its one of my favorite places to dine in Rockford. The atmosphere offers so much more than any other restraunt in Rockford. Tons of food and at a great price compared to other fondue restraunts in other citties. I highly recommend you try this place out!!

This place could be SOOO cool but it is sooo dirty and disgusting. I felt like I was eating in this guys dirty bachelor living room. The amount of food was GREAT but it was pricey and not really very tasteful. They had one guy trying to wait on all the tables at once. He was running around sweating. He did his best to please us all but it stressed me out just watching him! Clean up the place.. PAINT... get new napkins and fondue pots and forks already. Its a shame because it could be so much more! We looked past this and enjoyed ourselves but wont go back.

Great Place to go and enjoy and nice quite meal. Very relaxing and waitstaff always right there to assist you. It was my first time at a fondue resturant and I enjoyed it very much. I would recommend this resturant to people that want to enjoy a lovely night together in a beautiful home that was made into a restaurant.

Went to Lucernes for a family get together and had a wonderful time. You get more than enough food, the prices were very reasonable and the wait staff was wonderful. We could of used a little more of the cheese fondue, but other than that we had a great meal and a good time. Will recommend to friends.

unique dining experience in a town where you would not expect such a lovely old home turned into such a fine dining restaurant.

Great ambience in a quaint house/dining room feel. It is a great restaurant for a romantic meeting. The wine list is also quite satisfying; I recommend the Piesporter Riesling.
