Only 2 stars overall due to the blandness of the food. While I cannot speak to the authenticity of the food since I have never dined in Mexico, I would think that of all ethnic cuisine, Mexican should rich and full flavored. I am yet to encounter such and I have been to their establishment multiple times and have tried many selections. Please note that I am not speaking to the hot spiciness that is rightfully attributed to Mexican fare, but more importantly a depth of ingredient selection that resembles the effort needed to bring a worthwhile dining experience.

As an example, the Carne Asada was obviously bereft of aforementioned dedication it should rightfully take to present this selection in a proper manner. In a word, cheap.

An honest 4 stars for service, ambiance and cleanliness. It is a darn shame that the food is not satisfactory since the proprietors have done well with all else.

Grab some cumin (while not native)and, my goodness, a few cloves of garlic. Deliver the wonderful heaviness of spice that is Mexican. Los Mariachis can be an outstanding dining experience. So close yet so far.

I completely disagree that this is the best mexican restaurant in Springfield. The food at Mi Jalapeno is far superior. However, the ambience at Mi Jalapeno, despite recent attempts at improving it, is bleak. Los Mariachis has the most fun atmosphere, so if you're going to drink margaritas and eat chips and socialize this is probably the place for you. But if you're going for the food both Mi Jalapeno and El Toro are superior. If you need proof, go to all three places, order the chicken chimichanga, then open it up and look at the chicken. Case closed.

AMAZING. Hands down, THE best Mexican restaurant I've ever had the privilege to visit. I live in Springfield and often visit this place with friends. The employees always greet you with a smile and seat you at a place you enjoy. The TVs come in handy while eating your food. Love the live mariachi band and the fountain in the middle of the restaurant. I eat here a couple times a month and will continue to. Try the chicken nachos and fried ice cream and you will want to come back the next day! INCREDIBLE!!!

The atmosphere was very open and bright! I couldn't get over the amount of space there was in the restaurant! I didn't feel cramped into a table like most restaurants. Loved the food! Service was great! I really enjoyed eating at this restaurant and will go again!
