My Wife and I used to eat at this camp weekly until we moved to Ohio to be closer to family. We cannot find a seafood restaurant in Ohio that has Seafood Platters like we used to order at Lake Bowen. My Wife especially liked the Fish Stew. The value for the food and service was great. Since we are now 8-9 hours away, We are really missing this restaurant.Well worth the visit if you want a good Seafood Meal.

On of the best values for great seafood in upstate SC. Unless you are a big eater, you will be taking food home. Also, you will find it a challenge in ordering any item that will exceed $10, and that would include your drink. My wife and I will be visiting more often. We were very pleased..

We frequently make the trip to visit the Lake Bowen Fish Camp. Great food, great service and the kids love to step out on the deck after our meal and throw their leftover bread to the ducks and fish. It's better than other seafood restaurants that are higher priced.

I have been to LBFC several times. My wife and I eat out on a regular basis. I have nothing to say but good things about the service and the food. The servers are always very pleasant and the food is very good. I would definately recommend this fish camp.

My family moved to Boiling Springs 5 years ago from Savannah, Ga. where seafood is always super fresh. Craving some good seafood and on the advice of a neighbor, we all headed for the lake to dine on some "fine" cuisine at very affordable prices. The line was long (good sign, right?) but we managed to be seated in under 30 min. My hubby and I took one look at the menu and gasped at the "very" affordable prices. The waitress came, took our order and almost an hour later served it on LUNCH trays! No drink refills, nothing prior to dinner. And if that wasn't bad enough, the food was chewy and tasteless! Everything tasted either freezer burnt or watered down. Affordable, yes. Good and fresh, never! Don't wast your time or money. Really...pull out a frozen entree from home. It will taste better and actually be warm when you go to eat it.

I arrived with my two children and was quickly greeted and we were taken to a table at the window view of the lake. I was very happy. We placed our order with a very nice waitress, at first, until there was an error with our order. Then she handwrote the correction and we never saw her again. Never saw anyone again, until we had to beg someone passing by who asked if we were ok (but obvoisly didn't want to wait on us) for a refill of coke and a take home box. The bathrooms had a rotten sewer stinch that hit you at the check out also. And the error, or correction, caused such confusion at the check out - she rang up three different prices. I finally paid, tipped well, and tried to recover on the long drive home from the "angry redneck" service I surprisingly received and I won't be back. Too bad, we were very excited at first.

As former residents of Spartanburg, we come back to N.C. and brag on the S.C. food, but not this time. The owners of this establishment could do much better!Everything was good but the seafood. My flounder and oysters were not hot.I was given three little pieces about a quarter of an inch thick, and maybe four inches long, and six oysters. My wife was served two pieces of catfish about a quarter of an inch thick and maybe four inches long, not hot.Our iced tea tasted like sweetened water. My wife and I ate all of our food where we always require a carry home plate when we eat at fish camps where we currently live.Without the lake atmosphere, I don't think they would make it!

I found out about LFBC six years ago. First time I went they were lined up outside. I thought we would never get seated but to my surprise we were seated in 15 minutes. They know how to run a business. The food was great and the murals were pleasant to look at. We try to go several times a year along with friends that can't believe the reasonable prices. The location on the lake is also a great setting to enjoy fine seafood dining at an affordable price. We certainly would love to go more often but it is quite a drive from Lake James,N.C.

We make a weekly trek to LBFC - it's just part of our being! The fried seafood is great, you get more food that you can usually eat, and the price can't be beat.

Lake Bowen Fish Camp is a great family restaurant. The food is good, although nothing fancy. Great prices! The murals on the interior and exterior of the building keep your eyes busy. After dinner you can relax out on the deck and look at the lake.
