Restaurant Description

Welcome to Kelly's Steakhouse restaurant. At Kelly's we strive to be the premier steak and seafood restaurant in the Center County region. Our focus is to serve consistently excellent food with friendly services at a great value.

Under the creative direction of Executive Chef Sean Kelly and Chef Tien Kelly, our kitchen is well stocked with both fresh ingredients and talent. Our chefs have been trained at some of America's top culinary schools bringing their enthusiasm for producing creative food to your table. Kelly's Steak and Seafood State College Restaurant offers a menu of food and beverages with a distinctive Pacific Northwest image. Our kitchen is committed to serving only the finest products, and receives daily shipments of fresh, never frozen, fish and Certified Angus or Prime dry-aged Nebraska beef.

Our restaurant is located at 316 Boal Ave., Route 322 East in the historic village of Boalsburg, a suburb of State College, Pennsylvania. State College is the home of Penn State University and Nittany Lion football and basketball. The building that Kelly's Steak and Seafood Restaurant occupies was the former Boalsburg Steak House, a historic landmark that boasted a twelve foot tall steer on the roof and one of the first liquor licenses in the State College area. After an extensive renovation in 2004 that left little of the original structure except the steer, Kelly's opened its doors to rave reviews from both community leaders, for the resurrection of a landmark, and guests for the excellent food and service. We are proud to have been voted by the readers of State College, The Magazine as the winners of three categories for 2005: The Best Steak Restaurant, The Best New Restaurant and the Best Building Renovation. Chef Sean Kelly grew up in the Boalsburg area and began working in local State College restaurants when he was sixteen.

Food is very good. Steaks are great - specifically the 20 oz. ones. Desserts are fine But... CHECK YOUR BILL TWICE! There were three of us and we ordered a bottle of wine. California Acre for $26. In our bill we got a bottle for $100. When you order wine, you order by a code. The one we asked for has a code of 640. On the bill the wine code was correct, but name and price were not. They claimed computer error.

So, what they do is simple: You order wine, they bring one that is more expensive(always check labels) and then you see it in your bill.

Manager was able to resolve the issue quickly, but was not as friendly after that though it was not our mistake.
