After reading the review from Greg Trout, I will not eat at this restaurant, and will in fact mention that review to other aquaintences. That should not happen to anyone. I appreciate that he was willing to write that review.

My husband and I have been going to Kabul for years. It's a very good restaurant, BYOB, and we like the music and service. It's in a great location, reasonable, and convenient to the Arden or other entertainment sites in Old City. And they always have coupons in local papers and the Entertainment Book. Don't miss it!

Amazingly tasty food but the ambience of the restaurant is not what i was looking for. You get food over the counter when its ready after placing the order. There are no people to serve you the food so everything has to be done by oneself.

I noticed that mention Kabul restaurant on your website. I thought I should make you aware of a situation this past weekend that may make you rethink this decision.

My girlfriend and I entered this establishment at 9:30 on Friday night. Waiting at the appointed area to be seated, we were eyeballed up and down by the entire staff. After an uncomfortable amount of time, we were escorted past many empty tables in prominent places in the restaurant to be seated in the rear. At this point, we then had to wait for menus, while looking at the menus we were never spoken to again. Customers who came in after us were given water (something we never received); eye contact was avoided at every turn by any waiter or host, while others that came in after us were waited on immediately. After about 10 minutes, which I feel is more than enough time to at least be acknowledged. At this point, we left. No effort was made to stop us, which I took as an admission of their rotten treatment of us.

I feel the need to point out that I am white, my girlfriend is black, and this treatment is unfortunately not unique.

I feel i should make everyone in an interracial relation ship aware of this. Also any site reviewing restaurants that may not want to be associated with a business with such practices.

thank you

We sampled many of their menu items from appetizers, entrees, and side dishes and were delighted with all of them. Service was attentive without being intrusive. It is certainly not an elegant restaurant but the decor was authentic and the surroundings comfortable. There were large groups, families with younger children, and couples - all were made welcome. We enjoy different ethnic restaurants and will return here.
