Odenton Restaurant Guide

I don't know where all these bad reviews are coming from. Hunan Rose is my favorite restaurant! I've been eating there for 10 years now and I have my friends hooked too. The waiting may be long because its a busy place. What can you expect? I've made orders from small to large and it is always done within 40 minutes tops!

I went to Hunan Rose for the first time on Mother's Day (take out). I ordered Wonton Soup (I love Wonton Soup). I've never been anywhere where the restaurant has actually messed up Wonton Soup --so I ordered two--absolutely tasteless/mushy. I ended up throwing all of it out. It tasted like plain boiled water with over cooked bland noodles...filling of the wonton was so BLAH...WOW...I was expecting something much better consider how many people were in the restaurant. I was sadly mistaken. If you guys here in MD think this place is good...you would really go out of your minds if a really good authentic chinese restaurant were to open up.

We just moved here...and have been trying to find a decent Chinese restaurant. Well...we're still looking. I went to Hunan Rose on Mother's Day (take out)...I ordered WonTon Soup because I've loved it everywhere else I've ordered. The WonTon Soup at Hunan Rose tasted like plain boiled water with mushy noodles in it...no taste...blah....it was disgusting...I had ordered 2 large since I have never gone anywhere where the WonTon Soup is terrible. I threw out both large soups....WOW....what a waste of money. The egg rolls are greasy and not very tasty. The Hunan fried rice was average. We won't be going back to Hunan Rose. It was definitely NOT worth the money. Still searching for a decent Chinese Restaurant...

Expect 1- hour wait after 6 pm on the weekends for dine in and for call in orders its about 1-hour wait on the weekends.

I used to go here all the time, and i think that it is the most wonderful place ever. The food is delicious and the service is good. I highly recommend this place.

We've eaten here several times and were always satisfied. On the last occassion, we got our dinner after waiting for two hours! According to the waiter the kitchen forgot our order. And as with other patrons' experience, there was no apology from the staff or management and no adjustment of the bill. This shows very poor customer service! You can bet that was the last time we ever went there.

My wife and I have eaten here 4 times in the past 2 months. Each time, I have ordered the same thing--Black Pepper Sizzling Filet Mignon. The first 3 times it was excellent, meat tender as it should be. This last time, however, half the meat was tender, the other was shoe leather. I couldn't even cut it with my knife! I complained to the owner. You know, she didn't even have the decency to apologize for the problem, tried telling me that I was mistaken, that it was all filet mignon. I'm sorry, but I have eaten filet mignon for more than 30 years and have cooked it many times and I've never had a piece as tough as half the meat in this dish. There was no apology, no adjustment to the bill, no offer to have a better dinner next time. Well, there won't be a next time. She just lost a pair of good customers. What a shame...Oh well, you can take your chances. I wish you good luck.
