Restaurant Description

In 1972, Houlihan's first opened its doors in Kansas City with aprogressive, eclectic menu and energetic bar scene. Ferns hungthroughout, artifacts cluttered the walls and tapestries made by SanFrancisco hippies formed the ceiling. Caviar burgers, roasted duck,foot-long hot dogs and fresh carrot juice were just a few original menuitems so ahead for its time. It was hot.

Before long, there were a lot of 'casual dining' restaurants opening andcall us crazy, but they looked a whole lot like us. We tried to beflattered. Some grew really big, and by the '90s, the whole 'casualdining' landscape was pretty me-too. Instead of watching the consumer, the industry seemed more worried about what competitors were doing.Casual dining lost its way, and in doing so lost its edge.

Fast forward to 2002. That's when we had our 'Aha!' moment (as Oprahwould say). New leadership, new ideas, new inspiration. We completelyre-imagined ourselves, and got back in touch with the consumer. Newmenus. New plates. New building design, new soundtrack. Stylishuniforms. And a modern, warm restaurant design with an open kitchen andprominent bar. Today, our company is built entirely around what theprogressive consumer seeks in a restaurant + bar experience. And we planto keep it that way.

Forget 'casual dining.' That's an industry term so out of touch with howconsumers eat and drink today. For premium quality and style; farethat's at times familiar and other times adventurous and a laid-backmodern setting, Houlihan's is a true original.

I first tried dining in Houlihan's just last week. The food is great, so is the atmosphere. It's a great place to be with friends. Plus they have this half off after 4, which is just a great value.

I went to the Houlihan's in Station Square on July 4. I did not expect gourmet dining; however, I expected much more than what I received. I began by ordering a draft beer, but was brought a different beer than I ordered, in a bottle. After ordering an appetizer, my fiance and I had to ask for silverware and napkins. Shortly after finishing the appetizer, our meals arrived. It was only after the main course arrived that my soup was brought out. The quality of the food was fair. The service was terrible. Given prior bad experiences at other Houlihans locations, I do not think I will ever go back.

This place is great. I usually go here in the morning for a bagel and I'm always impressed. The service is great, the place is very clean, and the food is yummy. Try their sandwiches for lunch. The corned beef is great and they apparently get it ...

This is by far the best place to eat steak in the mid-michigan area. I have tried all of the big chain places and they just don't compare on quality or price. Everytime I go I get great service and my food is always prepared quickly and correctly.

I used to live in Lansing and always enjoyed the food and great service. Dale the night bartender always makes me feel at home. Whenever I am back in the Lansing area I always stop in.

Recently upgraded, Houlihan's is a clean, casual dining restaurant with upscale taste and excellent food. A menu standard, the Brentwood Chicken Sandwich with Honey Mustard is my favorite. The drinks are great and the service is impeccable.
