if I could give negative stars I would. Ratty and oudated, RUDE staff, BAD service, OVERPRICED sub-par food. The only thing of any worth are the bread sticks and they are not worth dealing with the bad service for.

The Highland House is Amazing! Terrific food, everytime. Go there once and you will be hooked. Their staff is very friendly and helpful and their food is perfect. We usually order pizza, pasta, and greek salads. Their fish and steaks are top quality!!!!!

I have been a loyal customer of the Highland House for many many years now. It is no question that the food and service is excellent. But, if the owners of the Highland House are wondering where all of their customers are disappearing to, maybe they should check the restaurants that treat their employees with respect. The owners of this restaurant are their own worst enemies. And the same people who built and made this a great dining experience are the same ones ruining it. A few weeks ago I decided to give them another chance and was once again appalled at the disrespect from employer to employee. I was once a waitress and my boss understood that without his staff he was nothing. On that note, both of the highland house owners need to step back and appreciate how long their waitstaff and cooks have kept them in business. Or continue to lose loyal customers like myself. Word of mouth travels fast.. especially when its bad i suggest they try and work on that before they run everyone out of there, and themselves out of business.

Great Food and Great Service! Deanna is a super waitress and I wish I could have left her more that 20% tip. She took care of everything and so friendly.

Had lunch here yesterday. Food as usual was awesome. We sat at the bar and the bartender Brodie seriously acted like he was doing us a favor by acknowledging our existance. He more or less growled as opposed to speaking and when delivering our food, literally plopped it down in front of us and walked off without asking if we needed anything more. I literally had to ask him if it would be asking too much to pour us a few more drinks. He spent the better part of the time we were there sitting on the customer side of the bar watching TV. My dining companion has been a regular customer for years and as I was treating him to lunch, the location was his choice. Even he stated he had never been treated that rudely in all the years he had been going there.

I have been going to Highland House for years! We have ahd family parties there and weeekly dinners! Our fav is the greek salad bread sticks and jumbo shrimp and we can not leave out the wonderful strawberry daquries!!! YUMMY I know dont live around there but do take my date nights to highland house

The food excellent like usually,the big guy is himself thats him. waitstaff is excellent, and very pleaseat place to work.

What a great lunch experience My girlfriends and I had yesterday 9/22/09. The Greek salad was fantastic, as so were the breadsticks, we love having our little get togeathers at the Highland House. lunch was very busy, and our server Jordan, was busy, but still gave us great service, refilled our drinks, and kept us going! we will be back, and of course, well ask for Jordan!

Myself and 5 other girlfriends met for lunch today at the Highland House, we had a great time! the company was great, food great, and our service was great! Our server was pleasant, answered our questions, kept our drinks refilled, and needless to say, put up with "The old bats." Thanks Jordan for good service, and putting up with us! We will be back.

My husband and I Have been coming here for years. When ever we can make it to that side of town. We usually sit at the bar for prompt service. I have always loved at least two of their bartenders, Broady and Denise. Unfortunately, I haven't seen Denise the last two times I've been there, hopefully she returns soon. She was always a pleasure to see and makes the best Margarita's! Overall the food is what makes us continue to return! One last thought; I agree with everyone else... Desperate need of remodeling!

I LOOOOOOOVE the food there and the manager is okay. I don't know why people say the manager is mean. It's my favorite restaurant.

i love the highland house,the food is great, i have been going there for 8 years and the waitstaff is great and the owners are fabulous. and if the big guy everyone talks about is yelling at the waitstaff maybe they are doing something to deserve it. you can't always take them off to the side at that very moment. so if you are going to complain about that stay away and don't go back. don't ruin it for other customers ! everyone there is very kind. i will keep going back.

Absolutely love the food but will not eat there as the big guy humiliates his staff in front of customers. It ruined our meal and I watched others looking on in disgust as well. Maybe he should stop running his mouth and update the place.

I had a wonderful experience at the Highland House. Our server was wonderful and the food is to die for! The only issue was that our child wanted ribs or steak and those weren't any of the choices on the kids menu. Thank You. We will be back.

I have been going to the Highland House for years! Their breadsticks are to die for as well as their greek salad! I gave the food 4 stars because although its great it is not always consistant. I often send steaks back and they always have undercooked vegtables and they are always the same ones. no variety in the veggie section. The service is always very prompt and welcoming!I only gave 2 stars for the ambience because it is soooo outdated! not to be mean but the decor is as old as one of the owners. Take some advice and remodel. The reason why I chose to give cleanliness only one star is because the bathrooms are so disgusting! They smell awful and it looks like someone tried to update them but didnt take their design classes before doing so. Although I guess it fits the rest of the decor of the establishment. The value got 5 stars because for the price you get huge portions! 5 stars for being kid friendly, maybe a little bit too much, everytime I am in there parents seem to think they can just let their children run ramped through this place. My overall dining experience was a 3 and the only reason I gave a 3 was because of my server. The server named Julie was rude! She definatly needs to learn some customer service. That kind of additude makes the restaurant look bad. I was lucky somehow though because we had a server change and we were lucky to have Lynn wait on us. she was wonderful. Thank you Lynn. Overall I will be back. I cant resist the food.

The breadsticks are great! our food was so-so service was great. sever tried very hard to please us, the restraunt is dark and dingey, needs to be updated, and the big owner needs to quit yelling at the help, that made for a horrible experience.

I love the breadsticks and greek salad from this restaurant! I wish I lived closer, but I live in Chicago. I have never had breadsticks as good as there's and I try to stop in every couple of years since the 1980's to get some breadsticks. I'm not sure if the chef is the same but he was super nice, and I love the owners, they were always sweet to my sister and I when we were kids. :)

I order carry-out often. Their salads are fantastic. The salmon on the salads could use work. The staff ften supplies me with free breadsticks, which are amazing. The owner is also very kind.

Excellent salad, soup, bread, fish, pizza. The pasta sauce is exceptional. Everything is pretty good.

Food is decent, waitstaff excellent.... but bus boys are superb.... very friendly and industrious.

I go to eat lunch at the Highland House at least 5 times a month. my last experience Today, was horrible, The service was great, the food wasnt the best, the portions were smaller, but the worst was witnessing one of the owners, the big guy, yelling at the help. for no apparent reason, this isnt the first time, i have witnessed owners yelling at help in front of customers, is this really how to run a business? keep customers coming back? after today i wont be returning to the highland house, and ill make sure my circle of friends know not to give the Highland House any business. we all can take our money elase where to eat, and not have to witiness the owners yelling at the help in front diners. very dissipointed after all the yrs, this place has been in business.

Pizza is fair; I didn't care for the greek salad as it was loaded with tasteless iceberg lettuce where the other items-olives, feta, onion, beets - were merely garnish. Other menu items I have had were pretty standard restaurant fare and the location on Highland Road needs updating. Service was quick and efficient.

Good breadsticks as others have said, but they are stingy with them. You used to get more with your meal. Owner is iffy on being friendly, sometimes he is on the ball, other times we have been ignored. Waitstaff okay, prices going up and food portions shrunk. Used to be better.

We have been going here for about 7 years when we bought our house. The pizza, breadstix and greek salad are hands down the best in the area. Good service and for children out of this world. My son seeks out the owner when we are there as he has become fond of my little red headed son

The Highland House is a top notch local favorite that the town has known and loved for years, though the shortage of breadsticks and price has changed the taste of the breadsticks and greek salad when it hits your lips is what keeps people coming back for more.

Great place to dine. This is always a favorite of my wife and myself. Everything on the menu is wonderfully prepared. The price is right for this type of service and meal.

We have always had a good experience with the Highland House and go there quite often. I even go to pick up breadsticks when we have Spagetti. I am starting to not think as highly as I once did because they use to sell the breadsticks by the bag and now you only get 12 breadsticks and they are 1/2 or 1/3 cut. Too much to spend for breadsticks. I don't care how good they are.

Still good, but not the incredible value it used to be. Obviously many people still love it as it is always crowded.

I too, love the food, service and have for years!!!! And don't ask me why, but I have never had coffee that good, ANYWHERE!!!

I live just down the road from this restaurant and eat there quite often, though my extended family has gone there for years. The fresh breadsticks and greek salad are awesome, and the menu is indeed quite diverse. The prices are a little higher, but I wouldn't say unfair, considering the great meal and service you get. The atmosphere is cozy - but not bright and new like most chain restaurants. They are a chain restaurant though, with the family owning other area eateries such as E.G. Nick's and Tomato Bros (with similar, yet differentiated menus).

Overall a good dining experience. The service is very good. Average meal price is too high. Ate there with a family of 4 and had a bill over $60 (with no alcoholic drinks).

Well ... we have been eating at the Highland House Resturant for over a decade now ... and find the food and service to be just top notch! Their menu fare is very diversified for all members of the family ... and the quality and quantity of the food prepared is superior. With my Handicap ... the owners always go out of their way to accomidate. They deserve a rating above 4-Stars! "Doc"

The Highland House was always my favorite place to eat when I lived in Highland. They had the best food that was always cooked to perfection. I recomend it to anyone who loves home style cooking.

The service here is great!

The waitstaff is excellant!! The restaurant could be cleaned up a little bit. It really needs to be remodeled and updated. The food is some good home cookin'. The greek salad dressing is the best of the best. I did notice the owners could be a little nicer to their employee's, I noticed they yell and belittle them in front of customers. Overall the food is great and the waitstaff is amazing, The best service I have ever had!
