a diner from Costa Rica, frequent SF visits
Pleasant people, parking usually no problem, much better than average Korean cuisine, very nice side dishes. The only downside is when a Korean tourist bus fills the place with dozens of diners.
Over all my favorite Korean restaurant in the Bay Area.

a diner from San Francisco, CA
My friend suggested this Korean BBQ place in the Richmond. He said it was the best in the City. He may be right. The restaurant is on a quiet corner in a residential area. The service at this family-run business was quick and unobtrusive. We had the Kalbi beef. The meat was tender and flavorful, unlike the shoe leather quality found in many such establishments. We also had a fish dish not on the menu. The chunks of fish were lightly battered, delicate, and flaky. The side dishes - kim chee, etal, were excellent, providing a variety of flavor combinations making every bite a different sensation for the palate. The ambience was nothing special with booths along the side and cafeteria style tables in the middle of the space. But it was pleasant and clean. All in all, a very good experience. If you're a connoisseur of Korean cuisine, Han Il Kwan is a must visit.
