It is a Durango landmark, ran by locals, for locals. It is good food, and cheap. If you are a tourist don't go. It is supported by long time locals who have grown-up up and lived in Durango for generations. It has no desire to cater to 'foodies' who care about the ambience, or service. Locallt owned and operating for years and years.

The food is Excellent! Would eat there everyday if I could. To the previous review about charging for Chips & Salsa; what a joke! I agree with the waitress...And to compare this place to Taco Bell, if you consider Taco Bell Mexican Food you know nothing about!

Been here twice so far and every time the service is terrible; everything takes a long time, and the people working there seem absolutely pissed off to have to even think about approaching your table. Now they charge $3 just to have chips and salsa.. I asked why and the lady said "Oh, let's see... the economy obviously.." Very overpriced, with much worse quality compared to chain restaurants like taco bell.

I did not like the burritos nor did I like the ambiance of a natural spanish restaurant...Blah is what I said and Blah is what I got. No nice waitresess no friendly vibe Maybe to WHO they knew. Maybe they should think about a relationship towards what puts a paycheck in their pockets. Should've ate at FRANCISCO's... Maybe a bit more friendly and better burritos.

My favorite spot since I was 13..I still fly in every year from Phx and get burritos to take home. The green chili burriots rock!
