GOOD FRIENDS A GREAT PLACE TO EAT Anytime I am asked if I know of a good place to eat, I always have an answer right away; Good Friends Chinese Restaurant. Good Friends is a wonderful little hole in the wall place that serves traditional Chinese and Japanese foods as well as fresh sushi. Conveniently located on Lincoln way in Cheyenne, Wyoming, It is centrally located near downtown and a short drive from anywhere in town. Let me tell you about the last visit I had with them recently. As I walked in the door, I was greeted immediately by the friendly staff. I asked for a table and am seated right away. The wait staff was courteous and did not hesitate to make conversation while I browsed the menu. My drink was served almost as soon as I ordered and when I had decided on what to eat the waiter turned it in post haste. I am a notoriously picky eater when it comes to Chinese food, so I am fairly used to asking that the cook add or remove certain ingredients from my meal. I ended up ordering pork lo mien and asked the cook to add pineapple to give it a sweet flavor. My special request was taken with grace and cooked to perfection without a second thought. As soon as I had ordered my entrée, the waiter returned with my soup selection to start off the meal. I had started the meal with a flavorful hot and sour soup, with just the right amount of spice to make it potent but not intolerable. As I had taken my last bite of soup I had just enough time to place my spoon aside when the waiter brought my entrée. The first bite of lo mien was like savory heaven as the noodles seemed to melt in my mouth. Robust garlic flavor accompanied by a sweet tangy pineapple burst. I devoured the entrée attempting to take time to savor the flavor, but I did not have much luck. The general appearance of the restaurant was warming and welcome. The tables were clean and seating was plentiful. The music was just loud enough to hear and set the mood well. The tables were set up in a sensible manner; I did not feel imposed upon by the other diners and had enough room to feel comfortable. The seats are comfortable and well maintained. Overall I had a pleasant dining experience. The wait staff, in my experience, is always superb and I return to this restaurant because of this. I stand by their service as this is the only restaurant I have dined at in Cheyenne where I have never received anything but top of the line service. The food is prepared quickly and tastes wonderful. They have a wide variety in their menu selection and it all tastes good. As far as speed of service they earn high marks as my total time from door to dinner was only seven and a half minutes. I whole heartedly recommend Good Friends Chinese Restaurant to anyone looking for a good meal.
Not the greatest Chinese place in town... OK service, food didn't seem as fresh as other places in town. Not a horrible experience, but there are better places within a few blocks
