We have been trying all of the local mexican restaurants and we were very pleased with El Penasco.
The service was good and the servers VERY friendly!
Even the owner came out and said Hi and introduced himself....
The salsas are great and very creative.
The enchiladas are bland....but we will be going back....
The food is OK/Good....not fantastic as it lacks spice/seasonings....
But the servers are great and nice atmosphere and great chips/salsa...

The food is authentic and delicious. Portion size is generous and El Penasco's frozen margaritas are the best in Tempe and perhaps beyond.
The decor is a combination Mexican cantina and all you can eat Chinese restuarant.
The staff is friendly andthe service is outstanding.
