Unlike ABanks below (who obviously has an issue with this place because he's trying to trash them on every food blog), we had a GREAT experience at this restaurant. The service was very nice - no problems - and the food was even better! A great value for your money because everything was healthy and fresh.. enjoyed everything we had and can't wait to go back.
I used to like this little restaurant in the heart of Summerville. The food was great and you got plenty of it. I would always see at least one welcoming smile as I got up to the counter.
I have been coming to The Eclectic Chef for probably 2 years or more now. After the beginning of this year things went far downhill. The service lacks because the wait staff is far too busy talking to each other or just acting as though they wished you would go away. The food is not longer as large an amount or as tasty. Prices have gone up, but food quality has gone down. Consistency is an issue. And at these prices, the food should come on a plate, not a plastic basket.
Overall, I do like the gourmet-to-go, but my family and I will not be returning anytime soon just because the staff is rude.

It took me a while to find the place. but it was worth it. I went to couple of other places with phillys in the name but not the same.I think the one summerville is the only place they have. The best i had since i left Philly.
