Restaurant Description

During the Yuan Dynasty (1206-1341 AD), the Mongolian Bar-B-Que was introduced in the Chinese culture by the Genghis Khan invasion of China. In the province of Mongolia, the mighty Khan's troops would camp on the banks of the great River Khan-Balik. The Mongols would prepare slivers of meat by slicing them with their razor sharp swords. They would then cook their food by searing it on their shields that was heated over their camp fires. Their diet consisted of mutton and beef. The addition of vegetables and other ingredients is strictly a Chinese innovation, as vegetables are very scarce in Mongolia. Genghis Khan and his fiercest warriors would enjoy the same food prepared for them on a large hot griddle. It is with this ancient tradition in mind that we bring you one of the worlds least known, but most original eating experiences.
