Chatterly's is a cute bar and restaurant, reminds me of the neighborhood pub! The food was excellent! We shared the salad with the homemade buttermilk dressing, excellent! I always get the pasta with spicy shrimp and scallops, excellent! They don't give many scallops or shrimp, but it was still delicious!
Good martinis too! Now, one of my favorite places to go when we have something to celebrate.

My husband and I passed through New Hartford the first weekend in February 2008. We stopped for a coffee break, and decided to order lunch instead. A bit confusing when you come in, on whether to seat yourself or not - finally caught a waitress's eye, and got the message to seat ourselves. We got our menus. After 10 minutes, we ordered our coffee and meal when our waitress came back. 10 more minutes, the coffee showed up. 30 minutes more, our salad and soup came. By this time, I was upset. Other tables had gotten their soup even though they were seated after we were (10 minutes at least). Our waitress, Lori, never once came by our table to offer a refill on coffee, water, to say your meals are coming... nothing. My green salad with blue cheese dressing had been thoroughly tossed as if it was a Caesar, and had started to wilt as if it had sat for a bit. I determined if my dinner hadn't arrived by the time I finished my salad, we were leaving. We did. She said "I'm sorry" when we asked for our check and to cancel the rest of the order. That was it. We had been there for one hour when we left, and hadn't gotten our main course yet, nor a word about it. We have never had such poor service. I would have given the atmosphere/ambiance 5 stars except it was very noisy and not quite enough lighting on a cloudy day. And it looked so nice when we walked in...

Reviews of Similar Restaurants

Pizza and salad both mediocre, sauce was tasteless. Looks depressing and rundown inside, no reason to want to return here.
Sandwich shop that builds very good sandwiches from standard ingredients in a typical chain store setting. Prices are excellent when you use the coupons!
Pizza was excellent in comparison with old managment. Service varied from excellent to slow, understaffed. Wood rate it as a decent Pizza place for the family.
The food is great here, but the restaurant itself is old, dank and dark. You should just pick up your food here, but not dine in. They should really remodel because everyone enjoys to visit a pizza parlor often!

Food, service and atmosphere are outstanding. High end food without the high end price. You won't find better in the surrounding areas including Hartford.

Lunch menu was diversified, prices were on target, service efficient but hurried, food was very good.
