Lovely design, excellent food. We liked this restaurant very much -- the food was fresh and lively with rich, spicy undertones. Unlike some reviews, we had an excellent waiter and above average service. I also loved the cocktail bar and highly recommend the Ginger Cocktail.

Terrible service, mediocre food. I like fine dining but the food did not measure up to the cost. There are much better restaurants.

Irritating service, greasy food. The restaurant was very hot and uncomfortable -- I felt like I was sitting with the people next to our table because I could hear every word they said. The chef refused to make the tofu without deep frying it -- I thi ...

I have eaten here many times for lunch and several times for dinner. I have never had any issues with the staff and consider this to be the best Thai restaurant in the Reno area.

We have eaten here several times, their shrimp tempura appetizer is quite good, but the last time we went there & ordered that, we got vegetable tempura instead. We told the waiter that we had ordered shrimp tempura, he looked at us like we were stup ...

I will NEVER go to this restaurant again nor will I recommend this place to anyone. It was my first time and was looking forward to a great time. What a terrible experience we had due to the rude bartender. I took my brother visiting from out of town April 08 and walked out before we were seated. The bartender, Barbara has NO people skills and has no business working in a restaurant. I can't believe a restaurant ownner/manager would keep her employeed. She actually began yelling at us across the bar for asking why they were seating people who arrived after we did. If a restaurant has to employee people like her, I feel sorry for them. They should be ashamed. Don't waste your time or your money.

I went there to eat, the waitstaff have never heard of customer service, not to mention they were rude and arrogant and I had to wait 15 minutes for my order to be taken, then they got the order wrong, and there was nothing Thai about it, it was Chinese food. Which also tasted horrible. Bangkok Express up on MaeAnne drive is ten times better and much cheaper. Talk about overpriced food that tastes like crap. And too pretentious. I will never eat here again.

The food is good, though certainly not traditional Thai. The service isn't the greatest...a bit too presumptuous at times.

I used to go there all the time, but I was REALLY turned off by their silly feud with Tattums (next door) about parking. At dinner time, I would see cars for Cafe de Thai parked in front of Tattums (in fact, I used to do it), but at lunch, if Tattum's customers parked at Cafe de Thai....watch out. It seemed to come to a head with Cafe de Thai blocking off the driveway. Immature and just pain silly.

I also hate seeing a "Grand Opening" on the noodle bistro addition to Cafe de Thai....for a year. A Grand Opening is a short term event.

Lastly, I can't stand it when I try to find a phone number for a restaurant on their web page....and they don't have one. How does a restaurant (or almost any business) these days not have some sort of presence on the internet? Especially when you have a "modern" feel to the restaurant.

Quality that was the hallmark of this restaurant is noticeably slipping.

I love Cafe De Thai. I thought I wouldn't like it as much as I did. Now It's My Favorite Thai Restaurant! I try to go there every month at least. It isn't that expensive for two people. The service is great, the food, the atmosphere, and the best part is everytime I go there, it isn't crowded. I LOVE IT ALL!

I found the food to be acceptable, but there are other much better Thai restaurants in the Reno area where the food costs half as much. The service was terrible; it was slow, the order was inaccurate, and the waitstaff was unfriendly. As far as the restaurant itself, it is a modern design that some find nice, but I personally did not like. On a plus side there is a full bar in the restaurant.

The food tasted OK, though one of the shrimps was obviously bad. Service was not prompt, and definitely pretentious as well as extremely expensive. I'll wait a while before I try it again.

Although the Thai food is not necessarily authentic, it was very flavorful and had beautiful presentation. I would go for the atmosphere alone. Our service was also excellent.

This was a great dining experience for our family. The wait staff was friendly and the food very delicious. We can't wait to return to try some of the specials. My son Liam always likes Thai food but they went nuts over a special they suggested.

My girlfriend & I stopped here for dinner on a weekday. The service was adequate. The food was not authentic Thai food, however. The food was good, but seemed to be Asian dishes (mostly Chinese) with a Thai flair to them. Worth a visit, but I probably would not return.

I once went to Cafe de Thai and the attitudes were so pretentious and service was highly unfriendly. I had my check book and they refused to accept my check and I will never dine there again. Try the Green Papaya in Caughlin Ranch Shopping Center, the price is right and service is friendly.

Cafe de Thai provides a consistently excellent dinning experience. This is a local's favorite.
