Really a consistently fantastic place regardless of location and in the wasteland of Arvada restaurants it's amazing. They take their time and don't rush things - if you want a fast food experience don't bother. It can get crowded and very busy. The kitchen is small so if they get slammed they can be a bit slow - don't get weird, just sit and enjoy your wine. They seem have dozens of regulars as I am always seeing the same people - must be doing something right.

My friend and I made a reservation 24 hours in advance for dinner at 5:30 p.m. on a Friday night. When we arrived, the host told us we would be seated at the counter. I noticed a half dozen empty tables and advised him that I preferred to sit at a table. He told us that all the tables were reserved and people requested a specific table when they made their reservation. I told him that we were not asked whether or not we wanted a specific table when I called in the reservation, and since there were several empty tables available, we preferred a table. He told us to go into the bar and wait and he would see what he could do. He then yelled over to us, "Would you like to order a drink?" We declined, and he said, "Well, it's on me if you'd like one." I advised that I would have a glass of wine with my dinner. Shortly thereafter, he called us to come to his station and said, "I had to move mountains to accommodate you, but you can sit at this table." We did, and I ordered a glass of wine along with my dinner. My friend and I ordered our entree and a salad of figs, cheese, greens and prosciutto in a raspberry vinaigrette. The salad arrived without the raspberry vinaigrette or the prosciutto. We asked our waitress about this and she said, "I'll tell the chef." A person from the kitchen came out with a plate of prosciutto and a mustard vinaigrette so we could only assume that they had no raspberry vinaigrette. The host came by about this time and told us that we needed to be finished eating by 6:45 p.m. as another group had our table reserved. We were seated at 6:00 p.m. but our entree was not served to us until 6:40 p.m. and we did not finish our dinner until 7:00 p.m. However, I did not see any people waiting in line for a table. When the bill arrived there was only a total figure so I asked the waitress if we were charged for the wine. I told her the host had offered to comp the wine. She said, "Well he never said anything to me." I paid the bill and gave the waitress a 20% tip because I had no quarrel with her. But, I will not return to this restaurant because I felt that my friend and I deserved better treatment from the host/owner.

Wonderful, kitchy spot in an old service station I believe. The staff is friendly, the food is amazing and I understand the cooking classes are top notch. I don't have an oven, haven't had one for 10 years, so I eat in great places when I can. Tough to get in, people seem to love the place and no reservations can be had. They can open the "bay" doors in the summertime for more space and seating.

What a great idea for a restaurant. Food was really good but I felt like a sardine in a can. Way too small a space.
