My wife and I who live in Longview, Texas travel to Shreveport, Louisiana about once a month decided to try Barnhills again even though we've had several problems previously at this restaurant. The food is very good WHEN THEY HAVE IT. About two-thirds of the staff are friendly WHEN THEY HAVE ENOUGH (There seem to be more cooks standing around talking than waitstaff or bussers on the floor). Oddly enough we've seldom had the same problem more than twice. Over the past two years we've visited this Barnhills about 10 times. I would only say that about 3 of these visits went without problems. Twice, the restrooms were horribly filthy. Once, there were plenty of entrees but only ONE dessert. On another visit, several parties including us had to stand and wait 5 to 15 minutes due to approximately 18 tables (by my best count) that had NOT BEEN CLEANED. The absolute worst (for the THIRD time) was tonight.. A MAJORITY IF NOT ALL OF THE AIR CONDITIONING WAS NOT WORKING! We didn't even bother trying to stay and eat this time. It was very uncomfortable two other times (WHEN THE AIR WAS PARTIALLY OUT) but tonight was the last straw. THEY HAD CHAIRS HOLDING THE OUTSIDE DOORS OPEN TO LET THE HEAT OUT! PEOPLE WERE COMING OUT WITH SWEAT DRIPPING OFF OF THEM! This is horribly sad because the food there is very good. I just can't say it's good enough to put up with all the other problems to give up our hard-earned money to sit and sweat while were getting mediocre service and limited food.

Over all was a bad experience. no meat on the hot line, salad bar half empty, cottage cheese was spoiled, fried chicken, cat fish, and fried chichen fingers were the only meat on the buffet. vegetable were boild cabage and green beans only, mac an cheese taste like it had been refrigerated for some time and reheated. Poor presentation and while I was there people called the chef out and talked to them about the food. not a good site. will not go back to that one again. had to drive way across town to eat there. no more.

We reserved food and space for a company get-together. This is where we always have it because the food and service has been so great. The manager did not order enough food, serve us enough, or quickly get it out to us. We are very disappointed and w ...
