On dec.1/07 we were in the Wolfville area and were celebrating our 20th wedding annversary. We were looking for a nice place to celebrate such a milestone with some good friends from the area, Actons was recommended, so we called to see what your latest reservation was and were told that 8:30 was available. We arrived promptly at 8:30 to be greeted by a young gentleman that did not welcome us or offer to take our coats but immediatly informed us that "you are our last reservation of the evening so we would have to order right away!" You can only imagine how this set the mood for a nice relaxing evening. We were given menues and left at the table for app. 3mins. Then the same young gent. arrived to ask if we had decided. I asked if we might see a wine list as he had not offered us anything to drink. He gave us a list and I asked what he would recommend as I didn't feel I had the time to spend looking the list over. He sent another older gentleman over to help us with our choice, he was very helpful and pleasant. We proceeded to order and our food arrived very promptly, it was delicious, the presentation was great but our server continued to rush us. When we finished our main course we were not asked if we would like to see a desert menue or if we would like coffee. So I asked and we ordered. Then My husband asked if he could have a coffee, or server quickly returned with the coffee he had made for the 5 o'clock reservation(strong and barely warm) at this point I politely asked our server if it was unusual to have a reservation at 8:30 as he seemed to be in such a hurry. His reply was well "the owner took the reservation" I did'nt quite know what he meant by this but it was obvious that it was an inconvience to him. Just thought I would let that our evening was less than what we had hoped. Your food is wonderful, prices were great but you certainly could improve on your wait staff.
