My husband and I are from the Charleston area.
We recently celebrated his b-day at Fulton Five in Charleston.
This restaurant has got to be one of the finest establishments in all of downtown.

Usually when you go to one of those fancy shmancy places, you expect to get servings the size of a half-dollar and walk away feeling hungry. This is NOT the case at Fulton Five.

Here are my compliments:
The food is FANTASTIC (we had filet mignon and it was a sizable filet and pan seared red snapper.) YUM!
Generous portions. There was no "room" for dessert, but the desserts here are spectacular.
Prompt, Knowledgeable, Accomodating service.
Romantic ambiance. Cozy and "Charlestony".
Hooray for free parking (if you arrive early enough.)

Reality Check:
Entrees range from $25 and up so bring the credit card! But it is SO worth it.
I wish they would launch a website, so you could see for yourself.

So, whether you are an "in-towner" or "out-of-towner", make a reservation at Fulton Five. You won't be disappointed.

March 7, 2007 My friends and I visited this reataurant last night. We were thrilled with the food. The portions were a good size and our selections were each excellent. During our meal we constantly made oohs and aahs while eatting. The servie was excellent. Our server was Karen. We enjoyed our food so much that we requested to pay our compliments directly to the chef Devon and his assistant Luther. The prices were very reasonable. We definitely want to eat there again.

An excellent little restaurant in the historic district of Charleston. The mussels are great, as was the seared tuna. The antipasto spoleto was also delicious as was the capelini. Also, our waitress was excellent. The inside is kind of cramped and noisy, but it is really nice outside on the terrace if the weather permits.

I went to this restaurant because it was recommended in the magazine Southern Living. I was unbelievebly disgusted with this place. From the moment I walked in I was treated with disrespect up until the moment I left. However, the thing that topped off this wonderful experience was the manager had the nerve to walk up to the table and explain how to sign the credit card slip. Your right, because I was touring the city of Charleston, I am an idiot.
Service, food, and the overall ambiance of this restaurant was terrible.

Really cozy establishment whose food and service is perfect for a evening of relaxed, romantic dining. Food was prepared very well and the wait staff attentive and helpful.
